Cervieri Monsuarez defends Pronovias trademark in Paraguay
Law firm Cervieri Monsuarez has successfully defended the trademark of Pronovias, a bridal gown manufacturer based in Barcelona and owned by the San Patrick company.
San Patrick had applied to register the Pronovias trademark at the National Intellectual Property Office in Paraguay, but the application was rejected on the grounds that it constituted a generic brand.
San Patrick filed an appeal in an attempt to reverse the decision, but it was upheld. Following a second appeal, the General Directorate of Industrial Property issued Resolution No. 605, revoking the resolution issued by the Trademark Office.
Cervieri Monsuarez’s team comprised Montevideo-based senior partner Natalia Paladino (pictured), partner Diego Cervieri and lawyer Marcela Cárdenas.
Cervieri Monsuarez has two offices in Montevideo, as well as offices in Asunción and La Paz.
