Cescon Barrieu advise on CPFL issuance
Cescon Barrieu advised on the issuance of nonconvertible, unsecured debentures of the CPFL, for the public distribution, without prior analysis under the CVM 160, in the total amount of BRL 190 million.
The debentures were guaranteed by CPFL Energia. The offering was made with the intermediation of the underwriters Banco Santander (Brasil), Banco Itaú BBA.
The offering was carried out under the terms of the new CVM Resolution 160, which innovated the Brazilian capital markets by presenting a unification of the legislation previously in force for public offerings of securities in Brazil.
The issuer is subsidiary of CPFL Energia, the biggest company in electric power distribution in Brazil, accounting for over 13% of all electric power distribution in Brazil and providing energy to over 10,4 million clients in 687 cities.
Cescon Barrieu advised the issuer and the underwriters and relied on partners Daniel Laudisio (pictured left) and Mariana Rodrigues Machado Borges (pictured right), associates Marina Souza and intern João Pedro Gaspar.
