Cescon Barrieu advises Cemig on tender offer of up to US$500mi
Cescon Barrieu Advogados advised Cemig Geração e Transmissão S.A. and Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais in foreign debt buyback of up to US$500 million
Cescon Barrieu Advogados advised Cemig Geração e Transmissão S.A. in its offer to buy back up to US$500 million of its senior notes due 2024 guaranteed by Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais CEMIG.
Cemig made the offer to cancel the notes purchased in the offer and pay the outstanding balance.
The offering was the first operation of this nature made by Cemig in this decade in the international market, and was most successful, with the total amount of US$500 million being accepted by investors.
