Cescon Barrieu has expanded its environmental law and ESG practice, incorporating a team led by a new partner Roberta Jardim (pictured).
This move strengthens the firm’s practice in complex and strategic environmental matters involving: advisory, administrative and judicial litigation, mediation of socio-environmental and cultural conflicts, licensing, investments in sustainable assets, climate litigation and carbon credit market.
Roberta, one of the leading environmental law specialists in Brazil, together with Maurício Pellegrino, current partner of the area, will compose a team with more than 35 years of accumulated experience in the sector.
Roberta serves clients from the most diverse sectors of the economy throughout Brazil. She holds a Master’s degree in Economic Law from UFMG and a PhD in Legal-Economic Sciences and Environmental Law from the University of Coimbra, where she also held a post-doctorate. With her vast academic experience, as a researcher and author of several books and articles on the environmental theme, Roberta understands that it is possible to add knowledge, bring the learnings, and academic discussions to everyday practice.
