Cescon, Barrieu, Flesch & Barreto Advogados leads transaction between ICL and Compass Minerals
The recent acquisition of the agricultural division of the North American Compass Minerals in South America by ICL Brasil, an Israel-based company of the minerals and chemicals sector, for R$ 2.2 billion, was led by Cescon Barrieu.
At the head of a multidisciplinary team, Marcos Flesch (pictured), partner of the firm, commanded the operation together with partners Isabela B. Leal Coelho and Joyce Honda, and associates Alessandra L. de Azevedo Souza, Daniel Paiva, Isabela Monteiro de Oliveira, Rafael Boaventura Lopes, and Thales Lemos.
“The acquisition is the second in which we have advised ICL in a short period of time after its recent entry into Brazil and consolidates the presence of a major global player in the South American market,” explained Marcos Flesch.
The Compass division acquired produces fertilizers, soil and foliar micronutrients, secondary macronutrients, biostimulants, seed treatments and adjuvants.
