The founders of Numeris, a consulting firm specialized in accounting, financial and tax issues, Armênio Correia (pictured top left), Ana Carolina Garcia (pictured top right) and Thiago Miranda (pictured bottom left), joined forces with the former counselor of the Administrative Tax Appeals Board of the Ministry of Economy (CARF) Tatiana Belisário (pictured bottom left) to create Correia, Garcia, Miranda e Belisário Advogados (CGMB), a boutique focused on strategic tax litigation.
With partners who have decades of experience in the tax area, both in law firms and in Big 4 audit companies, the new law firm comes to fulfill a demand felt by Numeris partners for some years in serving their clients and will be especially focused on litigation matters in the judicial and administrative spheres, in all instances.
Based in São Paulo, the firm will operate nationwide and serve companies from the most varied sectors and industries, both Brazilian and foreign.
Ana Carolina Garcia is a lawyer, Master (LL.M.) in International Business Law from the Sorbonne University (Paris) and Bachelor of Laws from UFMG. She has almost 20 years of experience in business consulting, having worked both in a law firm (Rolim, Viotti, Goulart, Cardoso Advogados) and in a Big 4 consulting firm (Deloitte). She teaches post-graduation courses in tax law and corporate law at PUC-Minas and Fundação Dom Cabral – FDC, and is fluent in French and English.
Armênio Correia is an accountant and lawyer, with a master’s degree in Tax Law from FGV-SP, a bachelor’s degree in Law from Newton Paiva College (MG) and in Accounting Sciences from UNA-MG. He has nearly 30 years of experience in business consulting, having acted as director, attorney, and consultant for companies in various sectors (FS Security Serviços e Tecnologia S.A., Telemig Celular/Vivo, Amazônia Celular/Oi, Companhia Tecidos Santanense/Coteminas, and Companhia Siderúrgica Pains/Gerdau), law firm (Rolim, Viotti, Goulart, Cardoso Advogados), and Big 4 consulting firm (KPMG). She is fluent in English.
Tatiana Belisário, is a lawyer, specialist in Tax Law from Milton Campos, specialist in Procedural Law from PUC-Minas, and Bachelor of Laws from UFMG. She has almost 20 years of experience in tax litigation, judicial and administrative, having served as a titular counselor of CARF, being vice-president of ordinary class and alternate in the Superior Chamber of Tax Appeals (CSRF). In 2018, she was awarded the “Ministro Leopoldo de Bulhões Functional Merit” prize. Her practice also includes law firms (among them Botelho Advogados, Rolim, Viotti, Goulart, Cardoso Advogados, Martinelli Advocacia Empresarial and Gaia Silva Gaede Advogados). She is a lecturer and professor in graduate courses and fluent in English.
Thiago Miranda, is an accountant and lawyer, graduated in Accounting Sciences from FECAP and in Law from UFMG. He has almost 15 years of experience in business consulting and tax litigation, having previously worked at law firms (Rolim, Viotti, Goulart, Cardoso Advogados and Martinelli Advocacia Empresarial). He is fluent in English and Spanish.
