Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa appoints Miguel Bastida as new partner

Mexican law firm Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa has named Miguel Bastida Peydro as a partner to strengthen its Madrid office

 Mexican law firm Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa has appointed Miguel Bastida Peydro (pictured) as partner of the Tax practice in the Madrid, Spain office, effective 1 February 2022.

This addition is part of the firm’s strategy which, since 2018, has focused on serving the interests of its clients in Spain, assisting with investment structuring in Mexico, developing a high-quality domestic practice in Spain, and leveraging knowledge of the Latin American market to assist regional clients in structuring their business and wealth issues.

Miguel holds a Law Degree with a specialisation in Business Law from the Universidad San Pablo CEU, and a Master’s Degree in Business Taxation from the Instituto de Empresa. He has more than 18 years of experience, specialising in M&A transactions, corporate restructuring and taxation of financing structures. Miguel has been involved in advising foreign investors in the planning and execution of investment projects in Spain, as well as national investors in investment projects abroad, in addition to frequently advising taxpayers in tax proceedings, both before the tax authorities and before the Courts.
