Chilean Coca-Cola bottler acquired drinks maker Novaverde
BAZ/DLA Piper, PPU and Portaluppi, Guzmán y Bezanilla Abogados were instructed on the transaction.
Embotelladora Andina is headquartered in Chile, with additional operations in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.
Coca-Cola del Valle New Ventures is a company created in 2016 in which Coca-Cola Chile owns 50% while Andina owns 35% and Embonor, the remaining 15%.
Embotelladora Andina teamed up with partners Embonor, Coca-Cola del Valle New Ventures and Coca-Cola de Chile to acquire Comercializadora Novaverde from Inversiones Siemel. Novaverde is best known in Chile for the Guallarauco brand, which includes juices, ice cream and frozen fruits.
According to Reuters, the buyers paid $80 million for Novaverde.
Partner Juan Francisco Gutiérrez led the lawyers at Philippi, Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría which acted for Embotelladora Andina in negotiations with the consortium of buyers.
