Cleary represents underwriters in $4b Chile bond offering
Cleary Gottlieb has advised on the Republic of Chile’s US$4 billion sustainable bond offering
Cleary Gottlieb, through its teams in New York and Buenos Aires, has represented Citigroup Global Markets Inc, HSBC Securities (USA) Inc, Santander Investment Securities Inc, and Scotia Capital (USA) Inc, as underwriters, in the SEC-registered offering by the Republic of Chile (Chile) of $1.5 billion of 2.750% bonds due 2027, $1.5 billion of 3.500% bonds due 2034 and $1 billion of 4.000% bonds due 2052.
The bond offering was listed on 27 January 2022 and closed on 31 January 2022.
The funds raised are intended to be invested in projects that may qualify as “eligible green expenditures” and “eligible social expenditures” under Chile’s sustainable bond framework.
