Clifford Chance assists IDB Invest in $1bn securitisation
Clifford Chance has assisted IDB Invest, the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in a USD $1bn securitisation transaction that is the first of its kind to enable private investors to purchase assets from multilateral development banks (MDBs) in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The securitised portfolio includes assets from 20 countries and 10 sectors, including corporates, infrastructure, energy and financial institutions, and by accessing private sector capital the transaction helps to expand impact investments in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Clifford Chance’s team was led by partners Tim Cleary (pictured left) and Gareth Old (pictured right), based in London and New York, respectively, who were supported by senior associates Konstantinos Voulgarakis and Mariana Cruz, both based in London.
