Coimbra, Chaves & Batista Advogados has announced Onofre Alves Batista Júnior as its new name partner

Coimbra & Chaves Advogados has announced Onofre Alves Batista Júnior (pictured)as its new partner in name and is now called Coimbra, Chaves & Batista Advogados.

Onofre Batista is the head of the firm’s Tax Litigation department and became a partner in 2019 after a distinguished career as Attorney General and Attorney General of the State of Minas Gerais. Onofre holds a Post-Doctorate in Democracy and Human Rights from the University of Coimbra, a Master in Legal and Political Sciences from the University of Lisbon, and a PhD in Tax Law from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where he also teaches Tax and Financial Law. In addition, he is the Scientific Director of the Brazilian Association of Tax Law (ABRADT), author/organizer of more than 40 books, and has written more than 100 articles published in books and specialized law journals.

The new name of the firm strategically represents the 10th anniversary of its founding and the beginning of a new era, and is also reflected in an update of the firm’s logo, which was renamed.
