Colombia’s Gómez-Pinzón announces promotions

Colombian law firm Gómez-Pinzón Abogados has promoted three associates to partner and named a counsel for the first time, strengthening the firm’s corporate, M&A, intellectual property (IP), competition and energy and natural resources practices.

Gómez Pinzón partnersThe new partners are Juan David Quintero, a foreign and international M&A, private equity fund, joint venture and restructuring expert; Juanita Pérez Botero, an expert in IP, and José Luis Palacios, whose expertise is focused on the energy and natural resources sectors.

“These promotions is recognition of lawyers who have developed their careers with us and have stood out for their professional and personal qualities, the law firm’s managing partner José Luis Suárez said.

“The three are leaders in their respective fields and with them the number of partners at the firm totals 21,” he added. 

In addition to the three promotions to partner, the law firm has named a counsel for the first time, María Fernanda Restrepo, who is a specialist in corporate law and M&A.

“Having a counsel in the firm brings us closer to the experience of the largest global firms, who see a counsel as a leader who has developed their career in te firm and has the highest professional capacity, ready to lead and coordinate various initiatives from their new role,” Suárez said, adding that Restrepo has been with the firm for 25 years.
