Colombian WCA chapter launches

The Colombian chapter of the World Compliance Association (WCA) was officially launched in Bogotá on Tuesday

Carlos M BetancourtThe WCA is a non-profit, International association made up of professionals and organisations interested in the world of compliance.

Among the WCA’s aims are the promotion, recognition and evaluation of compliance activities in organisations, regardless of their legal form, as well as the development of tools and processes for proper protection against certain crimes and offences committed by an organisation’s employees, collaborators or any other person related to it.

The Colombian chapter of the WCA is led by Carlos M. Betancourt (pictured).

The official launch of the South American country’s chapter was attended by Colombian President Iván Duque, the secretary general of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), José Ángel Gurría, and the president and vice president of the WCA, Diego Cabezuela and Iván Martínez, respectively.

The creation of the Colombian chapter of the WCA seeks to deepen the reflection on the necessary revolution of this activity in Colombia and the Latin American region, as a source of long-term shared value creation, the conduction of optimal public policies to strengthen social integrity and corporate and implement sustainable change, the WCA said in a statement.
