Carlos Aiza and Javier Curiel

Creel and Martínez Algaba combine practices

Effective in the first quarter of 2025, the seven partners and more than 50 associates, lawyers and other staff of Martínez Algaba de Haro y Curiel will join Creel García-Cuéllar Aiza y Enríquez to create one of Mexico’s leading dispute resolution teams.

With the addition of these additional top-tier litigation and restructuring capabilities, Creel consolidates its position as a strong firm in Mexico. The added team will also work closely with the other leading teams in the firm’s other transactional, tax and regulatory practices.

“This combination not only represented an excellent opportunity to incorporate civil and commercial litigation into our dispute resolution services offering, a strategic objective we had been exploring for some time, but it was a truly unique opportunity to assemble what we are convinced will be the most complete, deepest and highest level of litigation and dispute resolution talent in Mexico,” said Carlos Aiza (pictured left), senior partner at Creel.

“By joining forces with Creel, we will elevate our litigation, arbitration and restructuring capabilities to new levels of sophistication, strength and reach within the Mexican legal services market. We are excited to integrate the talents of both teams to provide existing and future clients with a unique service through a multi-disciplinary team of the highest caliber. We look forward to the new challenges ahead, now as part of the Creel team,” added Javier Curiel (pictured right), partner at Martínez Algaba.
