Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez has promoted 5 new partners with effect from 1 January 2022
Mexican law firm Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez has promoted Jorge Kargl Pavia, Alejandro Isaac Beas, Julio Rodrigo Álvarez Ortega, Diego Barrera Pieck and Eduardo Brandt López to partners, as of 1 January 2022.
Jorge Kargl Pavia (pictured left), currently counsel of the firm, specialises in the areas of antitrust and telecommunications, media and technology (TMT). He holds a law degree with honours from Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey (2006), a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with honours from Universidad Anáhuac (2013), and a second Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Information and Communication Technologies Law from INFOTEC (2017). Mr. Kargl represents clients from all industries, particularly TMT industries, in merger notifications, investigations, immunity requests before the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) and the Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE), specialized regulatory and normative advice to clients in this same sector, as well as amparo proceedings before the courts and tribunals specialized in antitrust, broadcasting and telecommunications.
Alejandro Isaac Beas (pictured top center) specialises in banking and finance law, including real estate and project finance. He holds a law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (2008) and an LL.M. from Columbia University (2013). Prior to joining Creel, Alejandro had experience in banking and finance working in both law firms and financial institutions.
Senior associate Julio Rodrigo Álvarez Ortega (pictured top right) specialises in labour law. He holds a law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey Campus Ciudad de México (2011), a specialisation in labour and social security law from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (2012) and a master’s degree in labour law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2016). Mr. Álvarez has extensive experience representing diverse clients in all legal aspects of their employment relationships in Mexico, having an outstanding knowledge of the labour aspects arising from mergers and acquisitions transactions.
Diego Barrera Pieck (pictured bottom center) specialises in mergers and acquisitions. He holds a law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (2008), a specialization in commercial law from Universidad Panamericana (2009), an MPA from Columbia University (2012) and a second LL.M. from Fordham University (2013). Diego, associate at Creel, focuses on mergers and acquisitions related to the infrastructure, energy, consumer goods and healthcare industries, in addition to specialising in complex joint venture structures between domestic and foreign companies.
Finally, Eduardo Brandt López (pictured bottom right), associate, specialises in tax law. He holds a law degree with honours from the Universidad Iberoamericana (2009), a specialisation in tax law with honours from the Universidad Panamericana (2010) and a Master of Laws in International Taxation from New York University (2012). Eduardo has focused his practice on supporting Mexican companies with operations abroad, as well as on tax matters arising from mergers, acquisitions and similar transactions with an international component.
