Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo opens office in Puerto Rico

Spanish law firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo announced the opening of a new office in San Juan, Puerto Rico, expanding its footprint in Latin America. 

 

In the announcement, the firm confirmed that it had hired Alejandro Garcia Padilla as a partner to lead the team in San Juan. He served as governor of Puerto Rico from 2013 to 2017. 

Garcia Padilla obtained his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Puerto Rico in 1994, and a JD from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 1997. Prior to his political career, he practiced law in Puerto Rico focusing on property, estates, contracts, and administrative law. 

In San Juan, Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo is set to general legal services, especially in business and financial law, public law and institutional relations, and will have team of 5 lawyers. 

Globally, the firm is home to 250 lawyers in 14 offices. In Latin America, the firm already as a presence in Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Mexico and Santiago de Chile.
