CSMV announces a new coordinator of the betting and sports area
CSMV Advogados announced Simone Vicentini (pictured), former Assistant Secretary for Prizes and Betting at the Ministry of Finance, as the new lawyer in the betting and sports area.
After recently announcing the arrival of José Francisco Manssur to lead the area, the firm has just announced the arrival of Simone to coordinate the practice alongside Manssur.
A specialist in Constitutional and Administrative Law, Simone has over 20 years’ experience in direct and indirect public administration at federal, state and municipal levels.
Among various positions, she held the positions of General Coordinator of Lotteries and Deputy Secretary of Prizes and Betting at the Ministry of Finance, working on the preparation of proposals, processing and approval of Law 14.790/2023, which initiated the regulation of fixed-odds betting in Brazil.
He was also at the forefront of establishing the sector’s regulatory policy, according to the 2024 Regulatory Agenda of the Betting and Prizes Secretariat (SPA), from January to May this year.
Among the various rules for regulating online betting that he coordinated, the most noteworthy were the accreditation of certification bodies for online betting systems, live and online gaming studios, the regulation of payment transactions and the establishment of the sector’s Regulatory Policy.
During this period, she also completed and sent to the Attorney General’s Office (PGFN) the drafts of the other ordinances that make up Phase I of the SPA’s Regulatory Agenda.
