Cuatrecasas acts in acquisition in Concesionaria Ruta Bogotá Norte

Cuatrecasas, through its Bogotá office, has acted as legal advisor to Fondo Ashmore Andino III and Ashmore Andean Fund III in the acquisition of a stake in Concesionaria Ruta Bogotá Norte.

Concesionaria Ruta Bogotá Norte is in charge of the financing, construction, rehabilitation, improvement, operation and maintenance of the Proyecto Accesos Norte Fase II corridor, one of the three Bicentennial Concessions (5G) awarded so far by the State, which will be fundamental to improve mobility between Bogotá and the surrounding municipalities of Chía, Sopó, Tocancipá, Zipaquirá and Cajicá.

The project includes the construction of almost five kilometres of the second carriageway of Carrera Séptima, the improvement and widening of the Autopista Norte from three to six lanes, the construction and improvement of the Perimetral Sopó and complements the development of Lagos de Torca.

This transaction, in which Obrascón Huarte Laín and Termotécnica Coindustrial (a subsidiary of Grupo Ethuss) acted as sellers, ratifies the commitment of international funds and investors to infrastructure development in Colombia.

Cuatrecasas’ team was led by partners Felipe Mariño (pictured left) and Ana María Sánchez (pictured right), with support from senior associate Natalia Villamizar, associates Juan Camilo Rangel and Luisa Toledo, and law clerk Alejandro Manrique.
