Cuatrecasas assists TGI with $1.5bn in financing
Cuatrecasas, through its Bogotá office, has assisted Transportadora de Gas Internacional (TGI) in the financing granted by Bancolombia and BBVA, in the amount of COP $1.5 billion, for the payment of TGI’s existing debt with Grupo Energía Bogotá.
This transaction, which consisted of an unsecured corporate financing, was of great relevance for TGI, because its closing allowed it to make the payment of all the existing debt with Grupo Energía Bogotá, its main shareholder, which was due in December 2023.
Moreover, the financing was an internal public credit operation, so, in addition to the negotiation of the documents, the advice involved analysing the viability of the structure within the framework of the regulation of this type of instrument.
