Cuatrecasas represents AC Capitales in acquisition of 30% stake in Doble Calzada Oriente

Cuatrecasas, through its Bogotá team, representedAC Capitales Infrastructure Fund II in their first investment in Colombia, through the acquisition of a 30% stake in Doble Calzada Oriente, a major infrastructure project for Colombia.

The advice involved the structuring and negotiation of a large number of contracts and agreements that served as the basis for consolidating AC Capitales’ participation in the Doble Calzada Oriente concessionaire.

Ana María Sánchez, partner of the firm, stated: “Doble Calzada Oriente is a key infrastructure project for the Aburrá Valley region that will undoubtedly change the face of this region. It is the first of its kind because it is a public-private partnership that will be developed with 100% private capital. Thus, the participation of AC Capitales and its entry as a shareholder of the concessionaire has been essential at different levels: it allowed the concessionaire to partner with a fund of the importance and size of AC Capitales.”

AC Capitales manages investment funds focused primarily on the infrastructure and real estate sectors. It also invests in private equity companies and projects, with a medium to long term maturity outlook.
