Cuatrecasas represents Termotasajero on syndicated loan

Cuatrecasas has counseled Termotasajero—an electric power generation and marketing company—on the structuring, negotiation, and closing of a COP 600 billion refinancing agreement, which will allow it to strengthen its financial position and further its expansion plan in the Colombian energy market.

The funds obtained will enable Termotasajero’s thermal power plants—located in the municipality of San Cayetano (Norte de Santander) and with an installed capacity of 345.2 MW—to continue supporting the reliability of the national energy system. This initiative will benefit nearly one million households and create direct and indirect employment for approximately 6,000 people.

Cuatrecasas’ advisory team was headed by partners Manuel Quinche (pictured right) and Juan Carlos Puentes (pictured left), along with Catalina Herrera, Steffany Serebrenik, Valentina Aldana, Daniela Berumen, Juanita Calderón, Ana García de Silvestri, Angie Gómez, Verónica Hernández, and Mariana Vanegas (Finance); Jaime Moya, Alejandro Manrique, and Rafael Marulanda Corporate and M&A); Laura Pinzón (Real Estate); Manuel Gómez and Emilio Torres (Energy and Infrastructure); and Jaime Vargas, Ariana Fernández, Nathalie Medina, Oswaldo Pacheco, and Valentina Vélez (Corporate Tax).

The law firm Martínez Quintero Mendoza Gozález Laguado & De la Rosa was also legal advisor in connection with the financing granted by Banco de Occidente, Banco Davivienda, and Banco Popular to Termotasajero and Termotasajero DOS. Juan Manuel De La Rosa was the lead partner, along with director Sebastián Celis, Nicolás Jaramillo (Senior Associate), Isabela Ramírez (Associate) and Valeria Rodríguez (Associate).
