Davis Polk and Simpson Thacher instructed on $600 million Banco de Bogotá offering

Davis Polk  acted for Banco de Bogotá while Simpson Thacher represented the initial purchasers. 

Banco de Bogotá is Colombia’s oldest financial institution and has been in operations for over 140 years, it is also the second-largest bank in the country. The bank is a subsidiary of Grupo Aval, one of the country´s largest financial groups. 

Citigroup Global Markets, HSBC Securities and Merrill Lynch acted as initial purchasers on the issuance, which consisted of $600 million of 4.375% Senior Notes due 2027. The notes offering was conducted in reliance on Rule 144A and Regulation S under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933.

The Davis Polk team working for Banco de Bogotá included partners Nicholas A. Kronfeld and Gregory S. Rowland.

The initial purchasers instructed Simpson Thacher, with partner Jaime Mercado leading the group.
