Demarest advises SMU Investimentos on the creation of tokenization platform

Demarest Advogados advised StartMeUp Crowdfunding Sistemas Para Investimento Colaborativo Ltda. on the creation of tokenization platform

Demarest Advogados advised StartMeUp (SMU) on the project to create, within the CVM regulatory environment, a platform for the trading of tokenized securities issued by startups, fueling the evolution of a secondary crowdfunding market.

The securities will be registered using Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and subject to tokenization operated by nTokens on blockchain.

Transactions will be conducted on the platform based on the engine machine provided by Atris. Once operational, the SMU secondary trading platform will support the expansion of the Brazilian crowdfunding market, which should generate more liquidity for investments made in innovative businesses.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
