Demarest expands tax practice with new partner in Rio de Janeiro

Demarest Advogados has announced the arrival of Luiza Lacerda (pictured) as a new tax partner to strengthen the team in the Rio de Janeiro office.

With more than 25 years’ experience in the legal market, Luiza focuses on administrative and judicial tax litigation in relevant matters at federal, state and municipal levels, as well as providing tax advice to companies and individual clients (wealth management).

Luiza has a postgraduate degree in Business Law, with an emphasis on Tax Law, from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), and a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ).

Throughout her career, she has advised national and foreign companies in various sectors, such as industry, infrastructure, media, among others.
With the arrival of the new partner, the area now has 16 partners who work in various aspects and segments with a focus on taxation.
