Demarest guides Brazilian pharma company to US buy

Demarest advised União Química in the acquisition of a biotechnology plant in the US from Eli Lilly.

 

labUnião Química is one of the largest Brazilian pharmaceutical companies. Among other business lines, it runs an animal health division under the brand Agener.

The target plant is a manufacturing facility for Posilac, an injectable supplement designed to increase milk production in dairy cattle. The plant was owned by Elanco, the animal health unit of Eli Lilly.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.
