Demarest hires new partner for M&A practice
Demarest Advogados has announced the hiring of Maria da Paz Tierno Lopes (pictured) as a new partner in the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) area. In the last two months, this is the fourth hire for the area, which now has 31 partners.
Maria da Paz graduated from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Lusíada, in Lisbon, Portugal, and has a master’s degree in Corporate Law and Financial and Capital Markets from Fordham University School of Law, in New York, USA.
Demarest’s new partner has more than 25 years’ experience in the area, with extensive experience in cross border transactions, advising European (mainly Spain and Portugal) and Latin American investors and clients on M&A transactions, joint ventures, commercial and corporate law, in sectors such as infrastructure, hotels and services, among others. She has also worked at international law firms such as White & Case (New York and São Paulo) and Cuatrecasas (Lisbon and São Paulo).
