Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas represents Vatia in the investment of a US$10 million

Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas has advised Vatia on the closing of a US$10 million investment by the International Finance Corporation (IFC).  The firm provided legal counsel to Vatia in the renegotiation and amendment of the 2022 agreement concerning the issuance and subscription of its shares.

The law firm also advised on the fulfillment of the conditions precedent required to complete the transaction initially announced in 2022. The transaction also included negotiating a package of guarantees in favor of IFC and it was closed three years after the original signing.

Vatia is a Colombian public utilities company dedicated to the commercialization of electric power. The proceeds from the investment will be used to expand its renewable energy assets and strengthen its operations in the country. This transaction is fundamental as it supports Colombia’s commitment to the sustainable development of the energy sector and the transition to renewable energy sources.

The Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas team included partners Santiago Gonzalez, Santiago Miramon, associate Rodrigo de Vivero, and law clerk Juan Jose Macias.
