Dentons promotes partner in Mexico City
Dentons López Velarde in Mexico City has promoted Bernardo Cortés from senior associate to partner, part of the promotion of 42 partners by Dentons across North America.
“We are delighted to announce and celebrate our newly-promoted partners who represent 21 offices and 16 practices across North America. Each of these partners is recognised for their commitment to Dentons’ clients and people,” Elliott Portnoy, Dentons’ global CEO, said.
Cortés was admitted to practice in Mexico in 2011 and has ample experience in energy transactions, focused on oil, gas and power. His practice also covers issues involving construction, infrastructure, mergers and acquisitions, natural resources and tax. He has represented clients in international energy projects developed in other jurisdictions. In 2017-2018 he was based in Paris, acting as legal counsel of a French international energy company.
Cortés is also an active speaker on international arbitration forums in Mexico and Latin America.
