Argentina’s Diagnóstico Maipú engages Jones Day for selloff
The shareholders of Argentinian medical diagnosis company Diagnóstico Maipú por Imágenes engaged law firm Jones Day for the sale of 100 per cent of the company’s shares to Brazilian company Diagnósticos Da América (DASA).
DASA acquired 80 per cent of the stock of the company directly and the remaining 20 per cent indirectly, through the purchase of 100 per cent of a holding company.
Diagnóstico Maipú is the largest chain provider of diagnostic medicine solutions in Argentina, while with more than 20,000 employees, while DASA is the largest medical diagnostic company in Brazil and among the largest in the world, the law firm said.
The transaction supported DASA’s international expansion and its entry into the Argentinian market.
The Jones Day team advising the selling shareholders of Diagnóstico Maipú was led by Robert da Silva Ashley (pictured), in the New York office, and Marcello Hallake in São Paulo and New York.
