Different firms in Despegar acquisition by Prosus

Davis Polk, Bruchou & Funes de Rioja and Mijares Angoitia Cortés y Fuentes have advised Prosus on the USD 1.7 billion acquisition of Despegar.com Corp, advised by A&O Shearman.

Prosus will acquire Despegar for USD 19.50 per share in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, subject to Despegar shareholder approval and other customary closing conditions. The transaction was announced on 23 December.

Despegar, which operates in 19 countries, is one of the largest travel technology companies in Latin America. Headquartered in the British Virgin Islands, Despegar also includes Decolar, Best Day, Viajes Falabella, Viajanet Stays and Koin.

Prosus is a global technology company with extensive experience in building world-leading technology companies.
