DLA Piper assists Industrial Acquisitions Fund in IMPSA deal
DLA Piper Argentina has advised Industrial Acquisitions Fund (IAF) in its acquisition of 100% of the Class C shares in IMPSA. This transaction is the first privatization process to reach awarding to a private bidder and closing of the public asset divestment by the Argentine government. The shares were previously held by Argentina’s National Government and the Province of Mendoza.
The firm provided legal support to IAF, a special-purpose vehicle led by ARC Energy, throughout the complex public bidding process. DLA Piper Argentina’s team offered strategic counsel on navigating the regulatory framework. The firm also spearheaded all M&A aspects of the transaction, including structuring, negotiations, and closing.
In addition to the acquisition, DLA Piper Argentina is acting as counsel to IAF in an ongoing debt restructuring process involving approximately US$580 million.
The DLA Piper Argentina team advising on this landmark transaction included partner Joaquín Eppens Echagüe (pictured) and associates Rocío Yu, Ignacio Bard, Delfina Berger, and Camila Rodriguez, all based in Buenos Aires.
