DLA Piper Peru names new managing partners
DLA Piper has announced the appointment of Luis Vargas and Sergio Barboza as Co-Managing Partners of the Peru office.
Vargas (pictured left) has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions as well as private equity, focusing on local and cross-border corporate structures, corporate governance practices and general contract negotiation. He provides legal advice on reorganisation matters, as well as on complex corporate transactions in domestic and international franchises and joint ventures.
Barboza’s (pictured right) practice focuses on banking and finance, fintech, capital markets and insurance, with experience in a wide range of transactional and banking regulatory matters, including the formation or acquisition of financial institutions, the issuance of debt and equity securities, and all aspects of banking supervisory issues.
Former managing partner Ricardo Escobar will continue to be actively involved in the firm as an advisor to the Executive Committee. He will also resume his leadership in the Project Finance and Energy & Natural Resources practices.
