ECIJA bolsters LATAM team with new partners
Gabriel Arias (pictured right) has been incorporated as a new partner in ECIJA’s Uruguay office, as reported by local media, strengthening the firm’s notarial, real estate, and commercial law practices.
Arias has over a decade of professional experience advising local and international clients on key matters, including real estate, commercial and corporate law, estate planning, and contract drafting. His multidisciplinary profile and in-depth knowledge of Uruguay’s legal ecosystem position him as a leading figure in the field.
Ecija’s new partner holds a PhD in Law and Social Sciences from the Faculty of Law at the University of the Republic (Udelar).
Throughout his career, he was part of the Interdisciplinary Center for Consumer Relations from 2007 to 2019 and is also a founding member and former secretary of the Uruguayan Consumers United Association (A.U.C.U.).
Peru
In October, Ecija also announced Viviana García (pictured left) as a new partner in the Technology, Media, and Communications in Ecija’s Peru. Viviana García has over 25 years of professional experience and is considered one of the leading experts in personal data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity in the region.
Throughout her career, she has advised companies across sectors such as consumer goods, industrial, education, technology, financial services, oil and gas, NGOs, and infrastructure, leading the implementation of compliance strategies, privacy programs, and complex technology regulatory frameworks.
