ECIJA promotes two new partners in Mexico City
ECIJA has announced the promotion of Berenice Sagaón and Kaynicté Pérez as new partners in its Mexico City office, effective 1 January 2023.
Ricardo Chacón, managing partner of ECIJA Mexico mentions that “[…] This decision goes hand in hand with ECIJA’s strategic plan to consolidate as a multidisciplinary, diverse firm, leader in Digital Economy and in our practice areas in Mexico, LATAM and Europe”.

I am confident that my appointment as new partner of this practice will contribute to consolidate the different projects we are working on together with our clients”.
Berenice Sagaón (pictured left) has more than 12 years of experience in ECIJA, advising on privacy and personal data protection, anti-corruption, consumer protection and advertising, anti-money laundering and compliance programmes. She is noted for her experience in the information technology (IT), financial and Fintech, entertainment and cryptocurrency sectors. She has led multiple projects for electronic payment processors, their relationship with financial technology and e-commerce institutions, as well as consumer protection, privacy and data inherent to the sector’s operations.
Kaynicté Pérez (pictured right) also has more than 12 years of experience at ECIJA, advising on new technologies, internet, e-commerce, sponsorship agreements and contract negotiation. She stands out for her experience in the fashion, real estate, aeronautics, distribution, information technology (IT), virtual assets (cryptocurrencies), startups and fintech sectors, among others. She has led the advice to sports entities in the preparation and negotiation of representation contracts with promoters, commercial contracts, representation agencies and federations. As for her experience in contract law and e-commerce, she has led commercial agreements between multinationals with advertising agencies and the media, as well as luxury brands and companies in the fashion sector in their online product exploitation agreements with Amazon, among others.
These new appointments are part of the growth strategy outlined by the firm years ago, as well as its commitment to diversity. Thus, ECIJA not only adds 189 partners and 1,000 professionals to its global structure, but also strengthens the percentage of women in the firm, where the group represents 53% of the firm’s staff globally and 43% locally in Mexico. With this latest announcement, ECIJA reaches a total of 6 partners in Mexico, together with a team of more than 25 professionals.
