Elisabeth Eljuri, former Head of Latin America at Norton Rose Fulbright, has joined Sierra Oil and Gas in Mexico

Sierra Oil and Gas, the Mexican independent oil and gas company, has announced the arrival of Elisabeth Eljuri as Chief Negotiator and Chief Legal Counsel. 

Eljuri, who joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. In Latin America, Eljuri focused most of her career on corporate and transactional work involving high-end sophisticated transactions for major energy companies as well as international dispute work related to energy, projects and infrastructure. She has worked in Mexico since the early 2000s and has been very active in the upstream sector in particular.

Eljuri received her law degree from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela and an LLM from Harvard Law School. She is admitted to practice in New York and Venezuela.

Eljuri was a key partner at the Caracas office of legacy law firm Macleod Dixon since 1998. Macleod Dixon became Norton Rose Fulbright in 2012 and Eljuri was promoted to head of the firm’s Latin American practice group.
