EY Law adds partner from Muñiz in Peru

Ernst & Young has hired Mercedes Fernández-Moscol as a non-equity partner to strengthen its Corporate and Capital Markets teams

Ernst & Young has added Mercedes Fernández-Moscol (pictured) as a partner, after working for almost 16 years as a non-equity partner at Muñiz, Olaya, Meléndez, Castro, Ono & Herrera.

EY Law added Mercedes to the firm as a non-equity partner, thus expanding the firm’s network of partners, which until now has María del Pilar Sabogal and Juan José Cárdenas, equity partners in Peru.

The hiring of Mercedes is a product of the firm’s increased corporate and capital markets work, due to Fernández-Moscol’s experience.

She specialises in securities transactions, domestic and international project finance and advising fund managers, brokers and securitisation companies.

Following the firm’s increased activity in crowdfunding, trusts and real estate investment funds and fintech, Sabogal, partner of the firm, said: “We made the decision to hire Mercedes because of her recognised experience and client service in international and local transactions […] we thought it was important to strengthen our capital markets and corporate practices.”
