FAS Advogados acts pro bono on the procedures for the implementation of the social bank
The Bank of Paraisópolis, in São Paulo, will be managed by the workers and will have its own currency
Paraisópolis is the largest irregular settlement in the city of São Paulo, with about 8,000 stores, 100,000 inhabitants, and a significant number of unbanked adults.
To boost financial and economic inclusion, the Paraisópolis Residents and Merchants Union intends to establish a financial structure for the community’s residents and merchants.
The Focaccia, Amaral e Lamonica Advogados (FAS Advogados) team composed of professionals with experience in Corporate, Banking and Finance represented by partner Paulo Mertz Focaccia (pictured), Renata Homem de Melo, Vicente Piccoli and associate Carla Anastácio is working on the procedures to obtain a license from the Central Bank (BC) to operate as a Simple Credit Company (ESC).
