FBPH advises EOMMT in renegotiation with EPMMQ to operate Quito’s metro system
Flor Bustamante Pizarro & Hurtado has advised Empresa Operadora Metro de Medellín-Transdev EOMMT in the renegotiation process of the Quito Metro Operation Contract with Empresa Pública del Municipio de Quito (EPMMQ).
This operation was concluded on 6 November, after a process that took nearly 500 hours, in 90 technical meetings over 150 days, where both parties reached an agreement that allows the proper fulfilment of several of the contractual obligations, both in the pre-operational phase and, especially, in the operational phase, overcoming certain inconsistencies in the schedule.
The objective is to have the Metro up and running by December 2023, consolidating the modernisation of urban transport in Quito and producing a positive impact on the lives of the people of Quito. With this project, Quito, Ecuador’s capital city, is propelling itself to a new level of mobility and economic development, being the first city in the country to have such a transport system.
