Ferrere advises Itaú Uruguay on 40% acquisition in Handy

Ferrere, through its team in Uruguay, has advised Itaú Uruguay on the acquisition of 40% of Handy, one of the fastest growing fintechs in the country.

The advice involved carrying out the due diligence process of Handy, with a multidisciplinary team. The transaction, signed at the end of October and subject to approval by regulators in Brazil and Uruguay, is part of the bank’s digital inclusion strategy to boost access to banking and financial opportunities for companies across the country.

Ferrere’s team was led by partner Geraldine Ifrán (pictured) and included, among others, Martín Pesce Cutri, Federico Lemos Lorenzo, Cristina Vignone, Carla Arellano, Maria Clara Porro, Cecilia Trujillo and Maria Eugenia Contreras Duque.
