Ferrere assists Google in setting up data center in Uruguay

Ferrere has assisted Google in all legal and regulatory aspects related to its recent announcement of investment in the company’s second data center in Latin America, which will involve an investment of more than USD $850 million.

The construction will take an estimated 26 months to complete, with peak workloads of up to 800 workers. This deal not only demonstrates Google’s commitment to the growth of digital infrastructure, but also the consolidation of Uruguay as a strategic hub for innovation and connectivity in the region.

The firm continues to advise Google on investment, energy and regulatory issues, real estate, permitting, contract preparation, and other matters related to the project.

Ferrere’s team is led by partner Gonzalo Secco (pictured), with support from Isabel Laventure, Verónica Raffo, Diego Durán, Enrique Slekis, Laura Caffera, Agustina Pérez Lete, Santiago Rodríguez, Cristina Vázquez, Cristina Vignone, Alexandra Rovere and Mathías Rojas.
