G&B launches its Capital Markets practice
García & Bodán has announced the launch of its Capital Markets área
The Central American firm García & Bodán, which operates in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, has launched its Capital Markets practice as part of their strategy for continued growth.
The practice will be focused on advising public and private companies seeking to raise capital to guide them in structuring alternative forms of financing, so that they can meet their business objectives.
Today, García & Bodán is recognised for the legal services provided in the area of capital markets practice, in addition to the recognition that precedes them for their participation in corporate and transactional projects, tax, banking and finance, intellectual property, litigation and arbitration, real estate, labour, energy and natural resources, legal services provided from its 8 offices in Central America.
Vanessa Oquelí de Riera (pictured), managing partner of García & Bodán Honduras and regional director of the Capital Markets practice affirmed: “We are making a difference in a market that has become much more active. Currently there are more international investors interested in public or private placements in the region. Central America has become a more attractive market and that opens up investment opportunities for both regional companies and international investors.”
“Our expertise in this area allows us to differentiate and distinguish ourselves from a number of players in the legal industry in Central America since we are able to guarantee specialized knowledge on capital markets,” said Terencio Garcia, Regional Managing Partner of the firm.
Godofredo Siercke, partner of García & Bodán Honduras and regional director of the Banking and Finance practice, commented that: “With the inclusion of this new practice to the firm’s portfolio of services, we seek to open the scope of options to groups that are being awarded large infrastructure projects in the region, so that they can consider different forms of financing beyond the usual ones.”
García & Bodán’s experience includes participation in sovereign bond issues, international private bond issues, legal advice on derivatives transactions and structuring of debt and preferred stock issues, asset finance, acquisition finance and sale and purchase of debt portfolios, among others.
