Gaona signs strategic alliance with Otárola & Prialé in Peru
Spanish law firm Gaona Abogados BMyV’s Peruvian office has signed a strategic alliance with Otárola & Prialé Abogados, allowing both firms to expand their client coverage.
The agreement seeks to increase mututal assistance between the two law firms and provide legal advice to foreign investors in Peru.
“With this alliance, we’re seeking the best legal security for foreign investors in Peru,” according to a statement by Carlos Campoy, managing director of Gaona Abogados in Peru, and Luis Alberto Otárola, principal lawyer at Otárola & Prialé Abogados.
The alliance will provide investors with “the business vision of Gaona Abogados and Estudio jurídico Otárola & Prialé Abogados’ in-depth knowledge of management and Peruvian tribunals,” they added.
Among the Spanish companies with significant investments in Peru is Repsol, and which has a 20 per cent stake in the Peru LNG Project, the only liquefied natural gas plant in South America.
Gaona Abogados BMyV is part of BMyV Alianza, with offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, Málaga, Valladolid, Burgos and Lima, as well as in London, from which its German desk operates.
