García & Bodán closed anti-piracy case for Crocs in El Salvador.

Central American law firm García & Bodán advised shoemakers Crocs on a matter arising from IP rights infringement. 

Crocs is a global producer ofcasual footwear which, since its creation in 2002, has sold over 300 million pair of shoes in more than 90 countries. 

Over 20, 000 pairs of counterfeit shoes were discovered in El Salvador, infringing the IP rights of Crocs which filed for a criminal complaint in the area of the discovery. After the negotiations with the counterpart, an agreement was reached with the same, then proceeding with the destruction of the shoes, under judicial supervision.

Partner Julio Vargas led the team advising Crocs. He is the regional director of the IP practice of the firm and the managing partner of its El Salvador office.
