Garrigues adds tax partner in Peru
Garrigues announced that Javier de la Vega has joined its Lima office from PWC.
Javier de la Vega has more than 20 years of professional experience, the majority of it at PWC. His career also includes serving as corporate tax manager for Anglo American in Peru.
de la Vega holds a Law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and an LLM in banking and finance law from the London School of Economics.
In the announcement, de la Vega stated, “I am excited to become a part of an internationally-recognized firm and to join the prestigious team at the Lima office.”
Garrigues has been in expansion mode in Peru, earlier this year, it hired a team of five lawyers from Benites, Forno & Ugaz.
The firm’s tax team in the region includes seven partners and over 40 professionals, working from Bogotá, Mexico City, Lima, Santiago de Chile and São Paulo. Garrigues already has over 140 lawyers in Latin America.
