García & Bodán welcomes Edna López as partner

García & Bodán has announced the appointment of Edna López Toledo (pictured) as partner and head of the Intellectual Property practice area in its El Salvador office.

Prior to joining the firm, Edna was a partner and country manager of a well-known regional firm and has more than 15 years of experience in intellectual property. In her practice, she has advised on the authorisation of trademarks for use and registration; and on the management of administrative litigation before the Intellectual Property authorities in El Salvador. Her practice also extends to the fight against counterfeiting of trademarks, copyrights and patent rights.

According to Terencio García, regional managing partner of the firm, Edna is “a person with vast experience in the field of intellectual property, highly recognised nationally and internationally for her expertise, participating in the Boards of Directors of various national and international intellectual property organisations, and is the current president of the Salvadoran Association of Intellectual Property (ASPI).”
