GCD Advogados starts activities in Rio de Janeiro
GCD – Gandelman & Costa Dias Advogados has announced the start they activities in Rio de Janeiro. The new firm is focused on arbitration and complex dispute resolution involving national and international companies in various segments of business law.
The firm was created to offer a personalized and efficient approach to meet the specific needs and deliver the result expected by clients, whether in prevention, composition or combative action in disputes before courts and arbitration chambers.
Led by partners Marcelo Gandelman (pictured left) and Rafael Dias (pictured right), with successful stints at BMA and Souto Correa, the firm currently conducts arbitrations and litigation in Brazil and abroad, of large national and multinational companies, involving tens of billions of reais.
Graduated in Law from UERJ, Marcelo Gandelman has worked as a lawyer and arbitrator for more than 15 years and was a partner at BMA, where he developed the Litigation and Arbitration area, and at Souto Correa, where he structured the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro branches, leading conflict resolution teams. He is also a member of the ICC Arbitration, integrating the Arbitration & Justice Committee.
Rafael Dias holds a law degree from UERJ, and has more than 15 years of experience in litigation and arbitration, with emphasis on corporate disputes. In his experience at BMA and Souto Correa, Rafael led litigation and arbitration teams in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, acting in complex cases, such as disputes resulting from privatizations in the telecommunications and mining sectors and, more recently, in several arbitrations brought by investors against publicly traded companies due to the devaluation of their shares.
