Gómez Pinzón advises Carlyle on Oil industry acquisition
Gómez Pinzón has counselled Carlyle Group on the acquisition of Oxy Colombia and Occidental International
Gómez Pinzón advised the Carlyle Group on financing with multiple lenders to acquire the 100% of the shares of Oxy Colombia Holdings LLC and Occidental International Holdings Ltd. The two companies through which Occidental Petroleum Corporation explored, exploited and operated all of its onshore assets in Colombia.
The operation was closed on October 1st and amounted a total of $825 million.
Gómez Pinzón team was led by partners José Luis Palacios (pictured left), Andres Hoyos (pictured centre) and José Luis Suárez Verswyvel (pictured right), and involved senior associates Lina Correa Posada, Andres Felipe Fonseca and Catalina Prieto Nuñez, and associates Juan Pablo Perdomo, Nicolás Rocha Pesántez and Andrés Eduardo Gómez.
Latham & Watkins advised Carlyle Group too, with a team formed by partners Sam Newhouse and Simon Tysoe, and associates Hector Sants, Pierre-Axel Aberg and Evelyne Girio.
Occidental Petroleum Corporation was advised by Occidental de Colombia, LLC in-house counsel Emily Alderen and White & Case.
