Gómez-Pinzón advises KKR on private investment in digital infrastructure

Gómez-Pinzón has counselled Onnet Fibra Colombia, a subsidiary of KKR, on the largest private investment in open access digital infrastructure in Colombia

Gómez-Pinzón has advised Onnet Fibra Colombia, a subsidiary of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), on a deal with Colombia Telecomunicaciones, a subsidiary of Telefónica, to acquire a controlling 60% stake in the existing fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network in Colombia. The advice consisted of acquisition, financing, regulatory and competition issues.

This transaction is considered the largest private investment in open access wholesale digital infrastructure ever made in the country and will provide broadband access to almost 4.3 million Colombian households over the next three years.

The acquisition was financed with the participation of Scotiabank Colpatria and Bancolombia, as senior banks in the financing, with commitments in its different tranches for $221,000,000 US dollars.

Gómez-Pinzón’s team consisted of partners Natalia García (pictured left) and Daniel Londoño (pictured right).
