Gómez-Pinzón assists in closing of Herencia Colombia project

Colombian law firm Gómez-Pinzón has assisted the main donors of the Herencia Colombia project with regard to its financial closure. The donors were led by the World Wildlife Fund and the Gordon E. and Betty I. Moore Foundation.

The advisory work involved the development of the project’s governance framework, due diligence and all aspects related to the negotiation and signing of the closing agreement with the Colombian government.

Herencia Colombia is a Project Finance for Permanence that will dedicate public and private contributions of $245 million over the next 10 years to operate and manage Colombia’s terrestrial and maritime protected areas, with a view to expanding their coverage to 30% of Colombia’s land and maritime territory and meeting the 30×30 goals set by the Government.

Gómez-Pinzón’s team consisted of partners Lina Uribe García (pictured left) and Paula Samper Salazar (pictured centre left), along with senior associates Juan Antonio Ucrós Pinzón (pictured centre right) and Lina Correa Posada (pictured right), as well as associate Manuel Londoño.
