Gonzalez Calvillo and Pérez-Llorca integration agreement
Mexican firm Gonzalez Calvillo and the Spanish law firm Pérez-Llorca, have announced the signing of an integration agreement that will allow Pérez-Llorca to enter the Mexican market.
The agreement is structured as a full legal and economic integration, where, following this integration, the partners of Gonzalez Calvillo will become partners of Perez-Llorca, bringing an initial platform of approximately 100 lawyers and around 160 professionals in its main office in Mexico City and in the Monterrey office.
The merger aims to establish a prominent legal practice in Mexico, focusing on major transactions, financings, and transnational litigation. It will be supported by a dedicated development committee, comprising partners from Mexico, tasked with driving investment and growth initiatives in the country.
Pedro Pérez-Llorca (pictured left), managing partner of Pérez-Llorca, expressed his satisfaction with the integration, emphasizing its potential to serve clients excellently in both markets and provide international career development opportunities for their teams.
Enrique González Calvillo (pictured right), founding partner of Gonzalez Calvillo, highlighted the significance of this integration in strengthening their presence in Spain and Europe while expanding support for US and Latin American clients. He believes that this partnership marks a milestone in Mexico’s legal profession.
With this merger, Pérez-Llorca takes a significant step in its international strategy, building on recent expansions in Lisbon and now Mexico City. The firm aims to offer comprehensive legal services in Mexican, Spanish, Portuguese, and European law from its network of offices across Europe, America, and Asia, totaling nine offices and nearly 800 professionals.
The integration also positions Gonzalez Calvillo to enhance its service offerings, expand its professional base, and solidify its position as a leading player in the Mexican legal market.
